Why We Built an Engineering-First HVAC Company
In July 2005, during a relentless two-week streak of 115°F+ temperatures in Phoenix, our founder Marcus Ramirez was working as a field technician for a massive regional HVAC franchise. Day after day, corporate managers instructed technicians to push total equipment replacements onto vulnerable homeowners when simple capacitor replacements or coil cleanings were all that was required.
Marcus saw firsthand how corporate sales quotas and commission-driven service technicians compromised safety and trust. In 2008, he founded AC Installation Phoenix with a strict set of operating principles:
- Zero Commission-Driven Sales: Our system designers are licensed master technicians and engineers, not salespeople pushing quotas.
- Strict Manual J Heat Load Sizing: We never guess tonnage based on square footage. We calculate window solar heat gain, insulation R-values, and duct static pressure.
- Official Arizona ROC Licensing: Fully licensed under Arizona Registrar of Contractors ROC #349812 (Class C-39 / R-39 Dual Commercial and Residential Air Conditioning & Refrigeration).
- Direct Point of Contact: Real office at 201 W Washington St, Phoenix, with dedicated domain communication lines and direct engineer access.

Meet The Licensed Technicians Who Protect Your Home
Google searches often reveal anonymous HVAC lead-generation brokers who farm calls to random subcontractors. At AC Installation Phoenix, every installation is designed, supervised, and commissioned by named, full-time master technicians.
Marcus Ramirez
Founder & Master HVAC Contractor
24 Years in Phoenix HVAC • AZ ROC #349812 Qualifying Party
Born and raised in Central Phoenix, Marcus learned the trade working in attic crawls through 115°F desert summers. After seeing corporate HVAC consolidators charge exorbitant rates for unnecessary replacements, he founded AC Installation Phoenix in 2008 with a simple oath: engineering-grade installations, strict Manual J load sizing, and honest, upfront pricing. Marcus has overseen over 16,000 residential and commercial installations across Maricopa County and serves on the Arizona HVAC Apprenticeship Advisory Council.
David Henderson
Lead Installation Supervisor & System Engineer
16 Years in Valley HVAC • Wrightsoft Manual J & D Certified
David holds a mechanical engineering degree from Arizona State University and transitioned his engineering background directly into field installation leadership. He personally reviews every Wrightsoft Manual J cooling load calculation to ensure new systems account for solar window heat gain, attic radiant barrier insulation, and duct static pressure rather than using dangerous 'rules of thumb'.
Elena Martinez
Senior Diagnostics & Inverter Heat Pump Specialist
12 Years in Residential Cooling • EPA Section 608 Universal Certified
Elena is renowned across the Valley as the technician other HVAC companies call when variable-capacity inverter communication systems fail. Specializing in high-efficiency heat pumps, dual-fuel systems, and ductless mini-splits, Elena ensures every system is charged to precise subcooling specifications and operates at peak SEER2 performance even when outside temperatures reach 118°F.
Tyler Vance
Commercial RTU & Sheet Metal Fabrication Specialist
10 Years in Heavy Commercial & Residential • Certified Sheet Metal Journeyman
Tyler heads our commercial packaged rooftop unit (RTU) installations and custom sheet metal fabrication shop. From flat-roof curb adaptors in Scottsdale strip malls to residential attic transition plenums in historic central Phoenix, Tyler ensures duct static pressure remains within manufacturer tolerances to prevent premature compressor burnouts.
